Just A Touch of Spring!

Hello Ladies!

I am sure that most of you on the east coast are enjoying a tease of warm weather, at least for us northern girls. It has been absolutely gorgeous out! My daffodils are emerging from the long winters nap and I hope they don't get to shocked because I know we are not done with old man winter.

It has been an discouraging week for me. Back in Sept., I had lost my boss to a massive heart attack. The business was left to his sons and us 3 girls have been running it.  Our tavern reminds me a lot of the TV series CHEERS. We are just ONE big happy family. Our landlord on the other hand has a very cold heart and gets quite upset when he can't have his way.  Valentine's Day he displayed his coldness and put padlocks on our doors. It has been 1 week today and things are still unsettled and the doors are still padlocked! Trying to find a job in this market has been quite challenging......and I am still looking.

I have been doing a lot "catch up cleaning" since the weather has been encouraging. Cleaning out cupboards, organizing, finding "knick knacks" that have been lost and now emerged from their hiding places. I have been "somewhat" productive this week.

So this table is a little bit of spring with my Valentine Tulips still a bloom and are at their grandest display with a touch of bunnies that came out from their hiding place. The snowman coffee mugs are to remind me that old man winter is not finished yet!  Hope you enjoy the pics and let me know how you are doing with your new finds!   Enjoy!!

With Spring around the corner....

 Beauty is coming to life...

The birds singing in the warm sunshine....

And the bunnies playing under the flowers.

But not to far away, a watchful eye is among us reminding us he is not done yet!

So, I will sit here among the flowers and enjoy a lite lunch
and enjoy the day....

As the evening draws near and settle down for the night....

and dreaming of that morning coffee and a scrumptious mid-day brunch,

I will enjoy the blustery day of old man's winter returns in hopes of a kinder, warmer spring days ahead!

Have a wonderful day!

Letters to Juliet

Hello Ladies!

I hope everyone had a "special" evening with their loved ones on Valentines.
Here was quite. I was up way to early to catch a train ride to DC for a job interview/test.  The earliest train out of DC was at 3:35. By the time I got home I was beat!  I am not use to those "early" morning rises and I am use to those "late owl" nights! Needless to say, I crashed early! We will have a dinner another night.
I though I would carry over last weeks post to this week with the Letters to Juliet.  After being in Verona and fell in love with the city and then the movie came, I was all into it to re see the places that I had once visited.
The "What If" post and this post are inspirations from the movie.  I hope you enjoy the pics!

2 doz of chocolate covered strawberries I did for my brother's sweetie

I used his gift as a centerpiece until I got mine

I thought these butter dishes were so cute. Came from Sonoma Williams

Found these lovely heart shape plate at Wegmans. The square plate at Khol's

Every arrangement that I made was in a coffee mug, chocolates, a glass rose and of course these yummie strawberries!

covered in pretzels, mini chocolate chips, nuts, pearlized pearls, and peppermint. Scrolls are in colored white chocolate and peanut butter chocolate. Dipped in Dark, Milk or White and only the good chocolate.

A special berry just for you....

In front of our place setting I have our wedding picture with love letters scattered all over the table.

I bought this sparkling brut for the bottle. I hope it tastes good.....

Mr. Me came through....My favorite..Tulips!

Note cards (love letters) scattered on the table

Note paper in a cute container found at the dollar store.

To the right is the letter that was written to Juliet and the response letter with the pen. A very girly girl movie.....

a little candlelight to set the mood....

candlelabras came from ebay. Purchase 2 of them and 1 is silver plated and the other one is pewter plated. I guess you can say I flubbed up on that purchase......ugh!

What If?

 What If?

"What" and "If" are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side by side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life. What if, What if, What if?

What if there was no cotton to make this beautiful hand made topper?

What if there were no molds to make these lovely dishes?
What if there were no artists to paint the delicate flowers?
What if color was just black and white?
What if there was no BLING?

What if there was no Royal Warwick to create this Chocolate Pot to hold all of my pretties?

And this Sugar bowl?

But, What If we take the time to treasure our love like a blossom of a rose? It starts out as a bud and gradually opens up to a beautiful flower. The many petals on a rose is like the many layers in love.

What If you had a chance of finding true love?
The greatest love story your own.
