Spootacular Purple and Lime Green

As Halloween approaches upon us, I am slowly getting ready for my favorite holiday.
It has been a eventful shopping extravaganza! On Halloween night, a dinner will be served to my hubby and I after the treats have been passed out.
Once I figure out what we will have, I will post the recipes and assure you that it will be creative!

Since I am new to this, I hope to be able to create some awesome table scape's with valuable information for you to do the same.  I have found Between Naps on the Porch and Nancy's Daily Dish which have inspired me to be creative and share.
I started out on the table with a old pillow sham from a comforter set that I have had for many years. Since I also like layers, a creepy cloth in white ( found in any department store that sells Halloween stuff as I call it) is underneath a black pedestal. I placed glittered (glitter from Martha Stewart collection) bugs, flies and mice on the cloth.
My  centerpiece is Styrofoam skulls from your local craft store and glitterized them with Martha Stewart's glitter. The white plate was a TJ Max find for $3.00 a piece!  The cloche and mice were ebay finds. The candelabras are from Wal-Mart and so are the flamless candles.

My charger plate were a Wal-mart find a few years ago around Christmas time. The dinner plate are a TJ Max find.  I found these cute lime green plates in the shape of a spider web and thought they would go great with the purple chargers.  The place card was a sale item (gotta love those) at Michael's. My test tubes are filled with flavored jelly beans, which I believe is marshmallow and the stickers on them I printed out on the computer.

Check out the fly on the plate.  Shoo fly........shoo!

My placemats and napkins I made from material I bought off the internet and the ribbon on the place mats is by Midori and the colors are black and yellow.....yes, yellow.
I found some smoke color and green glass at the dollar store that I thought would go well and hubby likes the smoke ones because it is a "man handling" kind of glass.  He is not found of stemware!
I thought this silverware went well with the theme because of it design. The silverware is "Tuscany" by Oneida.

The witch hat plates and spreaders made great little bread plates. Make sure you check out your local craft store for great finds!

eye ball appetizer anyone?

Fake green apples with those plastic teeth the children love to put in their mouths are added for color and texture.  More mice and bugs added to the table for a spootacular setting.
I hope you have enjoyed my green and purple theme and please let me know what you think.  I would love to hear your responses.

Watch for more upcoming themes and events especially during the holiday season.!

Best Wishes,
Andrea

I loved your tablescape! Very creative use of textures and patterns, I love the use of houndstooth! I feel the lime green really popped and the creepy bugs and mice looked really good in the glitter. I love when someone thinks outside the box and you certainly did!
